Board Certification:
American College of Veterinary Dermatology
The road to being certified by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (board certified) includes completing a one-year internship, followed by a two-year residency in dermatology.
It then requires the fulfillment of publication and caseload requirements, and after that, the veterinarian must pass a rigorous two-day examination administered by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.
"The American College of Veterinary Dermatology certifies veterinarians who have expertise and specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of animals with benign and malignant disorders of the skin, mouth, hair ears and nails. A veterinary dermatologist also has had significant training and is experienced in the treatment of allergic disorders." - From ACVD.org
